City Hall’s getting all kinds of crazy…

November 2, 2010

While we can’t exactly say that Santa Clarita is making the incredibly artistic strides we know they’re capable of, the newly installed abstract gallery at City Hall can’t be anything but a step in the right direction. Officially “opening” tonight the “First Floor Gallery” at Santa Clarita’s City Hall features and abstract gallery with work from some of our favorite local artists (here’s looking at you, Zach and Frank!).

If you live in #Awesometown, have you been by to see it? What did you think? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
Are you an artist that’s featured in it? Should we know about your work? Email us.

It’s about time Awesometown is featuring some awesome (& local!) art. I think the city (or Proxart) should take more of an initiative to feature some local art around the community. How can we make that happen?

Yes! The City seems to be warming up to the idea. Unfortunately, there’s bureaucracy to deal with on that front (which I, personally, am totally fine in dealing with). But I think the more immediate solution is to move the art into places that allow, support, and are set up for that kind of thing. At this point, ROMO and Rock Candy come to mind. Any other places?
