Sam Szulc

September 2, 2010

Through painting and illustrating, Sam Szulc is creating a series of unique characters and symbols. These elements provide a subtle element of social commentary that every piece of innovative art needs to possess.

Szulc has a DIY mentality when it comes to the creation of his art.

“I’m all about hand-crafted stuff,” he says. “I think you should be able to see the human hand in work, and a little bit of error here and there is a good thing.”

To create his paintings and illustrations, Szulc primarily uses handmade stencils, a sponge, and an old movie rental card. The real art is not in the tools used, but in the mind.
