Ugly Websites

March 8, 2010

Greetings bloggers, vloggers, Twitterheads, Facebook fanatics, and members of any and all kinds of online media. In case you haven’t already figured it out, I’m in an online state of mind. Recently I’ve been learning how to build a website using HTML, which got me thinking about the myriad websites I’ve been to in the last few years. New technology keeps some sites up to date and beautiful, but for every seemingly perfect website, there are dozens that fall short, even of standards used in the year 2000. Some appear to be thrown together at the last minute, while others seem to have been created by someone wanting to put as much information in the same place as possible. We at Proxart love good art, and in order to love one thing, you must hate its opposite. So we hold these sites up, not just to shame them, but to give an example of what happens when one does not put the thought, time and creativity into what they are passionate about. Seemingly, this is what happens when art is thrown out the window.

What are some poorly designed websites you know of? Feel free to share. We don’t want anyone else to make the same mistakes these people did.
