Rainy Day Music & Art

January 25, 2010

Greetings, all. Love it or hate it, rain season has come upon us. This usually means traffic jams, DVD marathons, and hot beverages.  For most artists, the rain is a perfect excuse to stay inside, listen to music and create. So we want to know:

What’s on your rainy day soundtrack? And what have you created during this latest storm?

“Shadowlands” by Ryan Adams is my #1 rainy-day song.

After quite the creative dry spell, I’ve been writing a lot of music and ideas lately.
    It’s been very nice.

    Thank you, rain.

My rainy day soundtrack has been the rain itself. And honking of horns. I’m usually outside when it’s raining. But when the weather is horrid, like on a sunny day, I tend to stay inside and listen to She & Him and Camera Obscura.

Lots and lots of Dylan, Iron and Wine, Sufjan Stevens, The Shins, Richard and Mimi Farinia….. anything folky acoustic, the rain and this music has inspired me to create some new illustrative work and of course making music!
