The Main Street Zombie March

October 13, 2009

We will be joining Brave New World Comics and the City of Santa Clarita this Saturday, October 17th at 6pm for the Main Street Zombie March. Come prepared to scare the living daylights out of the living, as you traverse down Main Street covered in blood and gore (real or fake is fine… your choice). If you’d prefer to not impale yourself with a steel beam (we’ve also heard that tree branches work well for this sort of thing… go figure!), students and teachers from Studio Makeup Academy will be at the store to give participants that just-rolled-out-of-bed-and-ate-some-brains look. In exchange, they are asking for zombie participants to add to the mountain of canned food and cash donations that will directly benefit the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry.

Horror writer Kevin VanHook will be on-site during the festivities, signing his best-selling graphic novel Superman and Batman vs. Vampires and Werewolves, and the Canyon Theater Guild will be looking for you to help them set a world record for the most zombies dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”. The City will be closing off a portion of Main Street to let the undead get their thriller on.

After dragging your feet down Main Street, all are welcome back at Brave New World for the Zombie Prom, featuring live (undead) music and art presented by Proxart. There will also be a zombie photo booth courtesy of Autumn Hull Photography. Even if you don’t come to the MZM, you should definitely come hang out with us back at the store.
