Film&Discussion > The Matrix

June 11, 2009

alright, we know what you’re thinking… keanu reeves has about as much personality as a frozen tree stump in the middle of the alaskan tundra. but you’re wrong*!

the matrix is a film that deals with some heavy issues, and themes that are worth discussing. so, come out to watch the film with us this friday night at 7pm, and get ready to dive into some conversation about the different themes that it brings up – or just make fun of how neo says ‘whoa. déjà vu.’ – immediately after (click here for a map to the house).

we hope to see you there!

I have watched the matrix several times. You’re right the film does deal with some serious issues, But what i like is the cool way that everything is so well timed and runs so smoothly.

I think a central theme is Descartes basic philosophical principle: “I think therefore I am”

What defines existence? How real is real?

Another movie that touched this theme(not nearly as well) was the 13th floor.

Anyways I look forward to discussing this theme.
